Independent Health Medicare HMO plans rated 5 out of 5 Stars
All of Independent Health’s Medicare HMO plans have received the highest possible rating – 5-Stars – by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for 2026. The Williamsville-based company is the only insurer in Western New York, and one of only 18 plans nationally, to offer a 5-Star Medicare Advantage plan in 2026.

Independent Health Once Again Named New York State’s Highest Rated Commercial Health Plan
For the third consecutive year, Independent Health has earned the highest possible rating of 5 stars for clinical quality and member satisfaction, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) 2025 Commercial Health Plan Ratings. Independent Health’s HMO/POS (Commercial) plan was the only plan in New York, and one of just eight Commercial plans in the nation to earn 5-star status for 2025.

The Buffalo Museum of Science’s annual free admission day, Community Health Day sponsored by Independent Health, will take place on Monday, June 19, 2023.
