Helping You Get and Stay Healthy at the Hub!

We want to give you even more ways to help you get and stay healthy. That’s why we’re excited to introduce health and wellness education and activities at our new Health Hub at our Cheektowaga/Depew Medicare Information Center starting in January 2020.

Here are just some of the programs you can take advantage of at the Health Hub in the first three months of 2020:

      Attendees will learn what unavoidable changes occur in our mouths over time, the sneaky, unexpected habits that cause damage to our teeth and simple at -home solutions to improve dental health. Find out what tests your dentist should discuss with you and some suggestions when considering dental insurance. There is at least one take home tip in this for everyone.
    • The 4 M’s of Aging
      Noon – 1 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dr. Michael Merrill
      Getting older is tough. One challenge is getting what you need from healthcare, and NOT what you DON’T need. The “Four M’s” can help you:
      What Matters: Get care that helps you with your goals.
      Medication: Make sure your meds aren’t making you worse.
      Mentation: Maximize your memory and your mood.

    • The Big 3: Cholesterol, Diabetes, Hypertension
      1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Friday only, Cindy Will, Christina Manciocchi
      Our Independent Health pharmacists will review what a chronic disease is, how it can impact your life and ways to manage and treat these conditions through lifestyle changes and medication adherence. Learn the importance of statin medications and facts about the “numbers” members need to know in controlling these conditions.
