We’re excited to announce that Community Health Day sponsored by Independent Health is returning to the Buffalo Museum of Science on Monday, November 11! Families of all ages are encouraged to join us for the event, designed to promote healthy habits and inspire positive lifestyle changes.
As always, admission to the Buffalo Museum of Science is FREE on Community Health Day.

With a focus on “Winter Wellness,” this special edition of Community Health Day will feature a variety of indoor activities for all to enjoy. Here’s what you can expect:
- FREE giveaways (while supplies last)
- PLAYSTREETS fun from the Police Athletic League of Buffalo
- Fitness activities led by YMCA Buffalo Niagara
- Scavenger hunt and quiz inside the “Explore YOU” exhibit
- Gratitude snowflake activity
- Kid-friendly activities from the Independent Health Foundation
- Storybook readings
- 10:30 a.m. | “They’re Heroes Too: A Celebration of Community” by Pat Brisson
- 12 p.m. | “Hero Mom” by Melinda Hardin and Brian Langdo
- Health and wellness vendors*
- Character appearances
- Food from the Cheesy Chick

*New this year, eligible members can use their Health Extras card to buy products and goods from participating businesses, such as Bert’s Bikes and Fitness, D’Avolio, Goldfish Swim School, SPAR Self Defense and more.
