MediSource and Child Health Plus members transition to our new claims system

Independent Health is nearing its final phase of transitioning to our new claims system, and will move the last of our membership – MediSource and Child Health Plus members – to the new system on September 1, 2015.

Please take note of the following changes that may impact your office as these members transition to our new system:

  • All Child Health Plus members will receive new member ID cards featuring new member ID numbers. Child Health Plus members will have numbers starting with "9" instead of "C."
  • Referrals for Child Health Plus members need to be entered using the “9” number beginning September 1, 2015.
  • The effective date and group number will no longer appear on the Child Health Plus and MediSource ID card, so please be sure to check member eligibility using HEALTHeNET and/or ePACES for each visit.
    • While you won’t be able to identify restricted recipients who are MediSource members using the group number any longer, the ID cards for these members will show “Restricted” for any member with a restricted status and you may check eligibility through HEALTHeNET and ePACES.

MediSource ID numbers will not change during this transition so new member ID cards will not be issued, but moving forward, you may see an updated member ID card design for our MediSource members as new members enroll and current members request new cards. The new card design will include the members CIN number, which should help when looking up eligibility in ePACES.

Independent Health asks providers to check member eligibility at each visit.
