In keeping with its commitment to provide its members with high quality and value in their health coverage, Independent Health has redesigned its Medicare Advantage plan offerings for 2017 to strengthen its Medicare Advantage program and address rising health care costs and other challenges resulting from the Affordable Care Act.
Independent Health’s individual Medicare Advantage plans will continue to offer a comprehensive provider network, including all hospitals in Western New York, and a premier wellness package that includes routine vision and preventive dental coverage, a gym membership, the Enhanced Wellness Visit and a hearing aid benefit*.
Independent Health’s 2017 individual product portfolio consists of four existing plans and one new plan:
- Independent Health’s Medicare Passport Advantage PPO.
- Encompass 65 Basic HMO.
- Encompass 65 Core (new for 2017).
- Encompass 65 with no prescription coverage.
- Family Choice Special Needs Plan.
Three plans will no longer be available as of January 1, 2017:
