Clinical Practice Guidelines

Below is a listing of preventive health, disease-specific and care management clinical practice guidelines, which include recommendations intended to optimize patient care. These are the recommendations applicable to asymptomatic adults. The guidelines are not intended to replace the clinical judgment of a physician or the needs of the individual patient. More frequent screenings or variations may be appropriate if there is an increased risk for disease due to family history or other factors, and at the discretion of the physician.

Preventive Health Guidelines

Unless otherwise noted, these guidelines are current and have been reviewed and approved by the Independent Health Quality Committees effective March 29, 2017.

*Please note: As of July 30, 2010, New York State law requires health professionals to offer voluntary HIV tests to patients 13 to 64 years old. This voluntary testing is not reflected in the Preventive Pediatric Health Care Guidelines. View the NYS HIV Testing Law and the update made to the law in May 2014.
