Important update about Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy

Effective November 1, 2015, Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy will no longer participate in Independent Health’s pharmacy network. However, our members will still be able to receive their medications through the mail by using either Wegmans Mail Order Pharmacy Services or ProAct Pharmacy Services.

Please note: This change only pertains to Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy. All Walgreens retail pharmacy locations will continue to be part of Independent Health’s pharmacy network.

What this change means to your patients
  • If your patients currently use Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy, they will need to get a new prescription from you in order to continue receiving a 90-day supply of maintenance medications from an Independent Health participating pharmacy.
  • Your patients will still have the option to obtain their 90-day supply of maintenance medications through the mail from either Wegmans Mail Order Pharmacy or ProAct Pharmacy Services. In addition, they can have their 90-day supply of maintenance medications filled at any retail pharmacy that participates in our pharmacy network.
  • Your patients may still be able to save on their out-of-pocket costs when having a 90-day supply prescription filled by any of our participating pharmacies.
