The collaborative efforts of Independent Health helped to secure the selection of the Greater Buffalo region to participate in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) Initiative, an advanced medical home model aimed at strengthening primary care to support improved care, better population health and lower health costs.

Independent Health and the Buffalo Bills have announced that the sixth round of the Health & Wellness Challenge will take place from April 24 through June 4. In addition to achieving a healthier lifestyle, Challenge participants will be eligible to win a variety of weekly prizes, as well as a grand prize trip to South Beach to see the Bills take on Miami during the 2017 season.

January 4, 2017: Reddy Bikeshare Program in the City of Buffalo wraps up a successful first season
Independent Health and Shared Mobility Inc. are very pleased with the year-one results of the Reddy bikeshare program, which launched last July. In 15 weeks, the total distance traveled by Reddy bikeshare members equaled the round trip distance from Buffalo to New Zealand and the total calories burned was the equivalent of nearly 7,500 chicken wings.
