December 16, 2015: Ring in the New Year at First Night Buffalo
Join the Independent Health Foundation as they present First Night Buffalo®, the ultimate drug- and alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration. The event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

December 8, 2015: More than 10,000 participants step up to take the Independent Health and Buffalo Bills Health & Wellness Challenge
The Independent Health and Buffalo Bills Health & Wellness Challenge continues to inspire Western New Yorkers to become more engaged in their own health and well-being. More than 10,300 individuals – including 3,665 new participants – registered for this fall’s Health & Wellness Challenge, which ran from October 5 through November 15.

November 2, 2015: 2015 New York State Consumer Guide to Health Insurance Companies shows Independent Health has the lowest overall complaint rates statewide
Independent Health was the top ranked company among HMO and EPO/PPO plans in New York State with the lowest number of overall complaints filed and upheld in 2014, according to the 2015 New York State Consumer Guide to Health Insurance Companies.

October 30, 2015: Independent Health to Expand Wellness Program, Add New Product and Lower Rates for Individual and Small Groups in 2016
When the annual open enrollment begins on the New York State of Health Marketplace on Nov. 1, Independent Health’s offerings will include an enhanced wellness program, a new product and lower rates on its existing plans.

An exercise class and pep rally was held on the playing field at Ralph Wilson Stadium to help kick off the third round of the “Independent Health and Buffalo Bills Health & Wellness Challenge.” The entire Western New York community is encouraged to sign up for the Health & Wellness Challenge, which will take place from October 5 through November 15.

September 23, 2015: DxCodeMapper app will make major transition to new coding easier for provider offices
Independent Health affiliate DxID has launched a mobile application that will make the transition to ICD-10 coding methodology much easier for health care providers. The free DxCodeMapper allows users to browse, search, and translate ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnosis codes on any Android or Apple device.

September 21, 2015: Buffalo Bills featured in videos to support the Independent Health Foundation’s Fitness for Kids Challenge
The Independent Health Foundation has teamed up with the Buffalo Bills to produce a series of promotional videos to raise awareness about its Fitness for Kids Challenge, an elementary school-based program that was designed to combat the rising rates of childhood obesity.

June 16, 2015: Soccer for Success program nets positive results for South Buffalo neighborhood
Thanks to the efforts of the Independent Health Foundation’s Soccer for Success® program, Mayor Byron W. Brown and the City of Buffalo Division of Parks and Recreation, a once abandoned field in South Buffalo has been transformed into a neighborhood-gathering hub for children and parents alike. Durant Park is one of more than 20 sites in the City of Buffalo that currently hosts Soccer for Success.

June 11, 2015: "Independent Health and Buffalo Bills Health & Wellness Challenge" recruits 4,300 new participants
More than 6,600 individuals signed up for this spring's "Independent Health and Buffalo Bills Health & Wellness Challenge," nearly triple the amount of people that took part in last fall's inaugural community-wide health and wellness initiative. The six-week Challenge took place from April 20 through May 31.
