Local cheerleaders compete in annual Fitness for Kids Cheer Challenge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 26, 2011) – Cheerleaders from throughout Western New York need you to cheer them on at the annual Independent Health Foundation’s Fitness for Kids Cheer Challenge at 10 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 152 Franklin St., Buffalo. Doors open to the public at 9 a.m.

This year’s cheer competition features two-panel judging, national style warm-up, priority seating, play-by-play feedback, trophies and awards. Video taping and cameras are allowed.

Spectator tickets are $10 for ages 12 to adult, $5 for ages 4 to 11 and children 3 and under are free. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fitness for Kids Challenge. For more information, please call the Foundation at 635-4959.

The Fitness for Kids Challenge is a community-wide health and wellness initiative in Western New York. The program encourages children aged 12 and under to complete health and fitness activities and learn-life long healthy habits. The initiative includes education, promotion, rewards, incentives and school competitions, and community wide events.
