Dr. John Haughton
Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Improvement Officer
Dr. John Haughton is responsible for providing leadership, direction, decision making and support for the merging of quality, informatics and analytics to align with the overall strategy of the organization.
Dr. Haughton previously worked with Independent Health as a consultant since June 2015 as chief quality officer. He also worked part time with our affiliate DxID, where he served as consulting risk adjustment advisor, supporting the interpretation of risk adjustment rules as they apply to Medicare Advantage and technology tool development.
Dr. Haughton has a background that is a combination of clinical, analytic and entrepreneurial experience. He has served as chief medical officer and senior vice president for product at DxCG Inc. and was senior vice president for clinical integration and product development at ActiveHealth Management, Inc. Dr. Haughton was also a founder and the chief executive officer of both DocSite, LLC. and CogniMed, Inc., developing the first cloud-native community-based population care management system and physician-office patient registry systems, the DocSite system. Prior to starting CogniMed, Dr. Haughton was vice president for medical affairs for a New England-based integrated post-acute provider.
Dr. Haughton earned both a doctor of medicine and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He also received a master’s degree in rehabilitation medicine/research from the University of Washington where he was chief resident during his training.
Dr. Haughton enjoys spending time with his friends and family, including his three daughters and his wife Jennifer.
