Executive Vice President, Chief Engagement and Servicing Officer
Jill Syracuse is responsible for the total customer experience for more than 375,000 members including claims operations and adjudication, coordination of benefits, enrollment and billing, member services, provider services, Web and e-business.
Syracuse works to implement key strategic initiatives designed to enhance the customer experience. She is responsible for understanding and meeting customer expectations while constantly improving member services. She has led proactive staffing efforts to meet changes in technology and sales volume while maintaining excellent customer service. Her efforts have led to Independent Health consistently being ranked among the best nationwide in customer service.
In 2009, Syracuse and the rest of the Independent Health executive team were named executive team of the year by HealthLeaders Media magazine.
Since joining Independent Health in 1985 as a marketing representative, she has held several positions, including assistant director of marketing, director of claims operations, vice president of internal operations, and most recently senior vice president of member services.
She currently serves on the board of directors at Aspire. She is a past president of the Hopevale board of directors and the American Marketing Association. She is also a graduate of Leadership Buffalo and served as chairperson for Camp Good Days and Special Times’ Black Tie Gala.
Syracuse earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from Canisius College and holds a certificate in HMO Marketing from Wharton School of Management.
